Variables EA

Eclipsant type β Persei (type EA)

Binary systems with spherical or slightly ellipsoidal components. It is possible to specify, for your light curves, the start and end times of the eclipses. Between eclipses the light remains almost constant or varies insignificantly due to reflection effects, slight ellipsoidity of the components or physical variations. Secondary minima may be absent. An extremely wide range of periods is observed, from 0.2 to ≥ days. The light amplitudes are also very different and can reach several magnitudes

Star GSC 03633-01693

Variable type EA (β Persei-type Algol eclipsing systems) in the constellation Lacerta, discovered on 09/01/2017 and registered under the code AAVSO 000-BMD-728. A phase diagram 0-2 from the measurements is shown in red on the plot. The range of magnitude variation of the star is very small, 0.09 magnitudes, most of which (0.07) is attributed to the ellipsoidal variation and only 0.02 magnitudes to the eclipse.

Star GSC 02903-01551

Variable type EA (β Persei-type Algol eclipsing systems) in the constellation Auriga, discovered on 14/01/2017 and registered under the code AAVSO 000-BMD-763. The plot shows in red a 0-2 phase diagram from the measurements and in green APASS measurements. Some of the APASS data do not match perfectly possibly due to a scatter from a star to the magnitude 15.7 companion at 12" whose data is included in APASS.
